first noticeable snow here in Palmer

Well, it is Saturday evening and I am tired. This morning I changed tires on the little Ford Escort we have. We had bought some studded tires on rims that were off a Honda...and they fit! So now we are ready for winter driving. Then right after lunch, Mark and Jay and their children came. Mark had his chain saw and we proceeded to cut brush and trees around our community well house. It seems no one else who uses water from our community well had a chain saw. Anyway, we worked for 4-5 hours cutting, piling and burning brush. We finally got 2 hot fires going and cleaned a 60 foot in diameter clearing around the well house. Now we have a legal community well! I need to go out once or twice more tonight to check the fires. I don't think this work is on my job description...but it needed to be done and the exercise was good for me.
